We are so proud to share some exciting news: Bright has officially been awarded the Silver Investors in Diversity Award by the Irish Centre for Diversity.

Laura Murphy, our CPO has said:

“This isn’t just a badge or a milestone – it’s a real moment of pride for all of us, and a reflection of the culture we’re building together. As a technology company, innovation is in our DNA, but great ideas don’t happen in isolation – they thrive in spaces where people feel valued, respected, and empowered. That’s why DE&I is more than just a programme at Bright. It’s part of how we show up, support each other, and shape the future of our business.”

It is amazing to think how far we’ve come in a short time. Back in November 2023, we were thrilled to earn a Bronze accreditation, becoming the first client to do so through Laya Healthcare’s DE&I programme. That moment sparked a wave of momentum and honest reflection. We listened carefully to feedback, rolled up our sleeves, and started to put meaningful changes into action.

Now the Silver Award recognises the progress we’ve made. From stronger staff sentiment to improved policies and leadership accountability, we’ve gone beyond the basics and started embedding inclusion into the everyday. In fact, we’re now above both national and IT sector benchmarks across key DE&I pillars – from leadership and progression to measurement and impact.

We’re proud to be officially recognised at the “Building Momentum” stage of our journey. That means, we have moved past the start line – we’re gaining traction and seeing real change, even while knowing there’s more ahead.

What makes this award truly special is that it’s rooted in something very real: our people. It’s the individuals who make up the rich tapestry of Bright – with their own background, experience, identity and perspective – who have driven this progress. When we talk about culture, we’re talking about our people – real people, with real feelings, expectations and hopes about what it means to feel safe, included and heard at work.

“I’m proud to work for a company that is committed to building a culture where everyone belongs and values every voice.”

– Laura McCaul, Commercial Partnership Manager

And we’re not stopping here. We’re already thinking about what’s next, how we can keep building on this foundation and continue to make Bright a place where everyone can belong and thrive.

Here’s to what we’ve done – and what we’ll do next!
